Assistant Director of Bands & Artist in Residence: Allison Betsold

Allison Betsold joins the Northeastern University Music Department as Artist in Residence, Assistant Director of Bands. As the director of the NU Pep Band and NU Concert Band, Allison works with over 250 students across multiple disciplines and majors. The NUPB can be heard playing at all home volleyball, women’s and men’s ice hockey, and women’s and men’s basketball games. A Massachusetts native, Allison holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Master of Music from the University of Kansas, and was studying for her Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Illinois before making her return to NU. Allison specializes in wind band conducting and literature, and creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all who wish to experience music together.

Allison is a fifth-year Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry major from Wilbraham, Massachusetts. She plays tuba in the Pep Band but, also plays saxophone and clarinet on occasion. In her spare time, she likes to draw and read. As President, she works with her fellow officers and the Director to coordinate band operations. Vice President: Eshna Kulshreshtha

Eshna is a third-year Marine Biology major from San Ramon, California, with minors in Environmental Studies and Music. This is her fourth semester playing clarinet in the Pep Band, and they also play bassoon in the concert band. She is also a brother of Kappa Kappa Psi. As Vice President, Eshna is in charge of maintaining the Pep Band roster, taking attendance at rehearsals and games, and assisting the President and Director whenever needed. Outside of Pep Band, they are involved with New Renaissance Theatre and are a huge NYT mini-games fanatic.

Treasurer: Faith Adeagbo

Faith is a third-year Health Science major with a minor in Business Administration. She is from Bronx, New York, and plays the trumpet in the Pep Band. As Treasurer, Faith organizes dues, manages the band’s budget, processes reimbursements, and generally approves of the band’s financial decisions!

Managers: Caitlin Shen & Riley Raddohl

Caitlin is a fourth-year Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry major from Long Island who plays the trumpet in the Pep Band. As co-Manager, she helps maintain the band’s equipment and instruments, distributes uniforms, and handles other equipment loans within all the NU Bands. Ask her about fountain pens, her favorite songs in the book, or what she’s reading!

Riley is a fourth-year Biology major from Plymouth, Minnesota, and plays the trumpet in the Pep Band. Outside of Pep Band, she enjoys participating in many intramural sports as well as painting. As co-Manager, her focus is on uniform and instrument distribution and maintenance. Her role also includes facilitating other band-related equipment loans.

Librarians: Liz Amorelli & Oliver Stearns

Liz is a fourth-year Biochemistry major from Danville, New Hampshire, and plays alto saxophone in the Pep Band. Outside of music, she enjoys crocheting and painting. As co-Librarian, she is responsible for making sure all books are intact with the right music and that every band member has a book signed out to use at rehearsals and games.

Oliver plays trumpet, forgets to practice tuba, and he almost forgot to write his bio, but it’s okay, we still love Oliver. Talk to him about marching band, the best type of milk, and whether or not it is okay to drink SunnyD. Events Coordinator: Grace Fleming

Grace is a fourth-year Computer Science major with a minor in Chinese from Madison, Wisconsin, and she plays the alto saxophone. Outside of Pep Band, Grace enjoys listening to KPop and trying new restaurants in Boston. As the events coordinator, she organizes all the super fun events the Pep Band participates in!

Webmaster: Julia Ariano

Julia is a third-year Environmental Engineering major with a minor in Writing from Washingtonville, New York. She plays clarinet in the Pep Band. As Webmaster, she is responsible for taking photos of the band at games and keeping the Pep Band’s website and social media pages up to date (@gonupepband everywhere!!). Outside of the Pep Band, Julia is on the NU Concrete Canoe team and enjoys listening to music and going for walks.

Student Directors: Eunice Koo and Jillian Scott

Eunice is a fourth-year Computer Science and Biology major from Tenafly, New Jersey. She plays the clarinet in the Pep Band as well as in the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. As co-Student Director, she conducts the Pep Band at basketball, volleyball, and hockey games.

Jillian is a third-year cell and molecular biology major from Skaneateles, New York. She plays the alto saxophone in the Pep Band. As co-Student Director, she conducts the Pep Band at basketball, volleyball, and hockey games. Outside of the Pep Band, Jillian is Treasurer of NUStage Musical Theatre club where she plays oboe in the pit orchestra.
